The Chukka Foundation-Hanover Charities Polo Event is an elegant affair with mingling, delicious high tea and drinks, thrilling polo, games, auctioning, lively dancing and entertainment. In 2024 the event had 200 spectators and raised gross over US$41,000 for charity. Their goal is to surpass these figures this coming year!

The Polo Charity Event has gained positive local publicity. With the Newport RI International Polo Team participating again at the forthcoming event, their international audience will be maintained and targeted for media coverage so as to broaden the reach of their charities and sponsors. They have received positive support from The Jamaica Tourist Board and other sponsors. However...

The Chukka Foundation has proven this commitment by assisting local schools with breakfast feeding support, back to school supplies and other essential equipment, improving education facilities, environmental projects, scholarships and much more.

The Chukka Foundation is dedicated to achieving lasting, positive changes to the lives of children, youth and families in Chukka’s local communities. They intend to make a difference by empowering through education and scholarships, improving lives by offering philanthropic support and promoting responsible and compassionate care towards animal welfare.

Each year, Hanover Charities provides support to dozens of organizations with programs that focus on food access, health services and education servicing school children, the elderly and the indigent. They provide over 200 annual scholarships, annual grants, health care packages, school supplies and more throughout the parish. Some of their largest projects to date are the building of the Hopewell Sports and Community Centre, an annual ‘Container of Love’ shipment in it’s fifth year and a Tablet Program for primary level students. Hanover Charities is the largest registered charitable organization in Western Jamaica and a 501 (3) organization in the USA.

Infrastructure repairs
Upgraded bathrooms and fans
Improved fencing
New tiles throughout
A vibrant new playground
...and so much more!

Thanks to their generous supporters, a total of US$16,025.64 & JA$2.5 million was invested in creating a brighter future for the children of this community.

Together, the Chukka Foundation and Hanover Charities donated a Cardiac Physiological Monitor Machine to the Cancer Care Center at Cornwall Regional Hospital, valued at over $500,000. Hanover Charities recently donated over 500 tablets with key boards to all Hanover based primary schools, along with schools supplies from their container of love initiative.The Chukka Foundation assisted 13 community schools with wall mounted fans for classrooms, as well as gifted food donations to Westhaven Children's Home for the Disabled. Hanover Charities' Scholarship program assisted 207 students with their tertiary level education in 2021, with many receiving honours.

Thanks to the help of sponsors and other partnerships, both charities have used the proceeds from the Polo event to support communities and impact the lives of many Jamaicans!
